Webbs are proud to have supplied the oak railway sleepers to help an RAF Chinook from 28 Squadron, which had become stuck in the mud for six days, after an emergency landing.
The extremely soft ground made the extraction very difficult, but a team of specialists aided by two cranes and 100 oak railway sleepers from Webbs, safely recovered the aircraft.
After pre-flight checks and refuelling, the helicopter flew back to its base at RAF Benson, and the site was made good for the landowner.
A video of the recovery effort can be viewed below and more details are available on the BFBS website.
